Bob Dylan, the legendary singer and songwriter, has made an announcement for his fans in Belgium: a Christmas gift. It will be his first time in more than five years.
Dylan recently turned 81 and will be appearing at Forest National in Brussels as part of “The Rough and Rowdy Ways” his latest tour.
This eagerly awaited concert will mark Dylan’s debut in Belgium in five and a quarter years. This tour will be Dylan’s first in Belgium since the 2020 release of “Rough and Rowdy Ways”, his 39th studio album.
Tickets are selling quickly for the Forest National event on October 15.
Dylan banned smartphones from being brought into concert venues this time around, according to concert organizer Gracia.
This move also aims at preventing unauthorised gig footage being published online.
Concertgoers at the Dylan gig will need to secure their phones in specially designed pouches to ensure they can watch the music legend.
Giggoers will need to place their device in a Yondr bag. This case is then secured in a manner that looks like the security tags found in clothing shops.
Phones are still in the owner’s possession, but they cannot be accessed.
To use the phone, the user must first return to the “lock and unlock” station and then move to the “phone access zone”.
Users will need to leave the location if they have to access their phone in an emergency.
High-profile performers such as Kate Bush, Jack White and Dave Chappelle have used the lockable bags since their launch.
Dylan was said to be annoyed by the use of mobile phones at his concerts. Madonna used magnetic boxes to store her phones during her 2002 London Palladium show.
The FN website has a message that reads: “Having created this phone-free experience during recent tours, we believe it makes for better times for all of our guests.” When we are free from the technological burden we have become accustomed to, our eyes and senses open up a bit more. It’s not negotiable, but medical exemptions are available for people who rely on their phones for treatment strong>
This tour is part of Dylan’s “Never Ending Tour”, his live schedule that began in 1988.
Dylan also announced nine U.K dates and six shows at Germany in his European leg of the “Rough and Rowdy Ways” world tour 2021-2024. The name is a reference to his 2020 studio album.
The Spring U.S. Tour began May 28th and ended July 6.
Dylan was 81 years of age on May 24,
The tour began in November 2021, with concerts in the U.S. midwest/northeast. These were the Bard’s first live performances for nearly two years.
Dylan is regarded as the greatest rock performer of all time. He began the “Rough and Rowdy Ways 2021-2024” world-wide tour in Milwaukee, Wisc. on Nov. 2, 2021. The 18-song set was heavily influenced by Dylan’s latest studio album. Eight of the 10 tracks were performed.
Tickets to the Brussels gig start at EUR101.50 (already out of stock) and go up to EUR129.50.
